Was talking about Mineral Powder Foundation with UFM1003 DJ Anna Lim today..... Have notice about all this mineral makeup for quite some time. So far some of my friends have tried & told me is quite good! I feel that is better for people with oily/combination skin as most of this mineral powder are not hydrating enough.
So if you've dehydrated skin my advise is to apply a hydrating makeup base or use this mineral foundation on a well moisture skin will be best! Also remember to apply lightly on your skin first than brush it on with circular motion to really set the makeup or else you may end up having too much powder & feeling too thick!
For "Loreal" & "Milani" you can get them now in John Little Marina Square, Revlon will only be selling from June 08 in selected stores!

Hi Andy,do we use liquid foundation before buffing the mineral powder over the face?
I don't think you need liquid foundation if you're using the mineral powder foundation cos it will be too thick. As mention is best to apply this mineral powder foundation on a well moisture skin, maybe a tinted moisturizer's ok.
Hi Andy,
i'm currently using a 3 in one colour lotion from beauty credit.(liquid foundation cum tinted moisturizer cum sun protection) Can i still use mineral powder foundation as loose powder? What's your recommendation?
Sorry I've not tried this 3 in 1 color lotion so have no idea will it be too heavy if to add on this type of mineral powder.
As mention in my post, I found that if you're only using it on a well moisture skin than this mineral foundation look quite ok but if you've already apply foundation than it may be too thick to add on this mineral powder foundation unless you apply very lightly or thin layer. You may need to try out !

Hi Andy, BB cream alot better for face than liquid foundation or powder ones ? BB cream acts like a foundation right ?
Hi Andy, just a general qns to ask you.
I've notice that SIA stewardess usually carry the bright red tone assign to them very well.
I've medium - tan skintone, darker or lighter shades of red (lipstick & nail polish) will looks better on me?
I'm hoping to achieve similar colours like them ;)
Many thanks!
Hi mingrong
BB cream is almost like makeup base/tinted moisturizer but stronger than makeup base/tinted moisturizer but lighter in coverage compare to foundation (liquid or powder).
I should say is a product for people who don't really like the thickness effect like foundation, but if you're use to foundation than you may find BB cream to light in coverage! Hope this will help you to understand a bit more.
Hi YS
For people with tan skin tone - brighter red lip color will bring out the features but you also have to match with what outfit/dress code you're wearing.
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your suggestions! Love reading your blog, lots of updates!
Cheers,
YS
Thanks for your support YS! :)
Hi Andy, will coverage be enough if we brush mineral powder over the skin without any liquid foundation? Is it true that mineral powder such as Mac's Mineral Skin Finish gives good coverage? Thanks much
I've not tried MAC 's mineral skin finish so I'm not really sure but most of the mineral powder foundation gives medium coverage, they helps to even out skin tone but not so much of cover pigmentation/scars marks/pimples completely.
Hi Andy, I've heard of you appearing in the talkshow with Anna on 100.3FM. May I know when are you on air?
Hi beauty addict
Thanks for your support! My interview with UFM1003 DJ Anna Lim is on every friday around 2.45-3pm.
Hi Andy,
i'm stucked with lots of qns..
Firstly, foundation or pressed powder which is better?
as i alwys tot of foundation is v thick and will clog pores even though they are non-come
secondly, what brands of pressed powder do you suggest for a sensitive cum combination skin type??
thank you in advance.. =)
Hi MeiIee
Since you've combination skin this type of mineral powder will be better for you! As mineral powder doesn't clog pore! But even so you still have to do proper cleansing every day!!! Remember is just like you need to have your outfit washed every day, same to your makeup have to be clean off completely at the end of the day.
thank you Andy!!! .. btw what brands of mineral powder do u recommend??
on the other hand, i heard lots of ppl saying mineral powder clog pores -.- ?
ultimately will one have clogged pores is depend on their skin type right?
Mineral powder are made from all "mineral" which only will stay on the surface of our skin hence it won't cause clog pore, anyway no matter what you've apply on the skin but if you don't cleanse it well at the end of day - due to our skin secretion of sebum/oil/dirt will cause clogging or even more other problem. The other simple way of thinking is just like if you don't washed the outfit you've put on everyday what will happen to your body?
DEAR Andy..
thank you very much,., u enlightened me lolx
No problem! Take care! :)
hi andy, i have very oily skin and have tried various moisturizer but it don't seems to help much, which moisturizer will you recommend?? btw, is this mineral powder foundation suitable for me?? how to use it properly??
many many thanks..
luv (^^,)
YL
Hi YL
For very oily skin is best to use moisturizer without oil but hydrating enough for the skin.. maybe you can go check out with "Ipsa" counter? They've this computer machine that can help you check your skin & they've their star products "metabolizer" which come in many different type of texture for different skin type which maybe able to help you?
For makeup - mineral powder foundation is better for oily skin.
i was wondering if there are any mineral powder foundations out there that will give good coverage ("heavy") for me. i have had quite bad scarring from acne and dark shadows under my eyes
Hi Taz
