Lasting eye shadow

How to make sure your eye shadow more lasting?
I usually apply a thin layer of creamy/liquid eye shadow as a base before applying the powder type of eye shadow. Make sure the creamy/liquid eye shadow are applied evenly & thin layer, follow by using eye shadow brush to top on the powder type of eye shadow!
