Hi Addy, I am so delighted that i have actually found your blog... and i enjoy reading it so much...i completed reading all the 2007 entries... i am actually in search of a good makeup primer and loose powder... was considering laurier mercier... would you recommend me to buy that?

and also i have some fine lines underneath my eyes as well as dark eye circles... i know i have to conceal it...but the lines seems more obvious after that.. any concealers that can reduce the lines and the dark circles....?

One last question.. [sorry =)] there is this new range of cosmetics from kanebo called cofret'dor... i really love their eye shadows...especially the gold tone one...but i feel shiseido's maquillage is not bad too...any recommendations? if i have a pair of deep set eyes....would golden brown tones not flatter my eyes?

sorry because im full of doubts...i really love your blog.....

Hi Pearl

Thanks for your support! But just to let you know- I'm Andy Lee! Not Addy Lee!

I've not tried laurier mercier so far hence I'm not really sure is good!
For lines under the eyes - Is best to apply a makeup base first as this will help to reduce the appearance of lines but not completely!!! Using a well moisture with medium coverage liquid foundation will help to conceal the dark circle.. try Dior capture totale defination serum foundation!
I've seen Cofret'dor from some Japanese magazines! They look fantastic but yet to try the texture so can't commend. As for Maquillage I've tried the eyeshadow palettes- very good, fine textures & quite natural yet can be a bit glamour depend on which palette colors.
For deep set eyes - If the golden brown tones are not too deep in tone should be fine! But I'll try to top on with a bit of light soft pink to reduce the deep set eyes socket area!

Hey andy!

hope things are doing great for you. I just heard from this sale lady that actaully we do not need to aply base before applying foundation.

but wont that caused breakouts?

andylee makeup artist from singapore said...

The major reason that causes skin break out is not just foundation! It can be many others reasons, but the most important is to to choose the correct/suitable products to used & cleanse the skin with makeup remover at the end of the day completely!

The foundation colour we use should it be lighter than out skin colour?

andylee makeup artist from singapore said...

Hi Elina

When choosing foundation color is best to get the tone as close as possible to your skin.
What you can do is to select three tone that's close to your skin & apply this three tone of foundation next to your lips near your cheek area, the one tone that disappeared into your skin will be the right color tone for you!

Hi andy,

I was wondering basically what is different between 隔离霜和饰底乳, as in 隔离霜 is it the base and 饰底乳 is to brighten up the face colour.

By applying this, did i need to remove it using makeup-remover or use normal facial wash.

Thank you

andylee makeup artist from singapore said...

Hi Liyun

隔离霜 & 饰底乳 - Both are makeup base! Is just that the different is 隔离霜 is more of brighten & sun block. as 饰底乳 usually come with the effect of changing the skin tone colors. Anyhow both are quite similar! Is just that in mandarin or in Taiwan they make it a bit more drama by naming them differently!
All products which are not skin care need to be removed by makeup remover til the end of the day!

hi andy, do you know of any good products to recommend for [laugh lines]? Tried using sk2 anti-wrinkle, but it seems ineffective.

andylee makeup artist from singapore said...

Sorry so far those skin care products I've tried still can't really get rid of laugh lines completely! Only botox or filler do.

Hey Andy,

hope you are doing fine : ).

I just want to ask, why do some pimples hurt so much when you gently touch them but why some doesn't hurt?

andylee makeup artist from singapore said...

The pimples hurt is because is inflamed(发炎).

Hi Andy!

I was doing a search on Ipsa website and then happened to click onto yr site.

Sianz. There's a discout going on at Tangs and i'm stuck to what to buy. Time reset seem interesting but the price tag also very nice. I'm going to buy the eyebrow pencil lead. Actually, do u have any eyebrow pencil to recommend? I've used Shu Uemura (find it a hassle and i even buy penknife n sharpen myself), RMK (similar to Shu but slightly more creamy) and also Ipsa. Other brands didnt try. Any recommendation? Thanks!

Hi Jen

I only used powder type(like eye shadow palette) for eyebrow. Cos I'm too lazy to sharpen it as well! haha.. The other one that I use for people with oily skin is the liquid eyebrow from "Sana-Power style" which is like a marker pen type, I think now "Canmake" also have it. Very lasting effect!

Hi Andy!

Thanks for the prompt sharing. I'm also using powder type for eyebrow now. I misplaced my RMK pencil. Ekks. Actually I have a few sitting around my house. Just dont know where their 'legs' bring them to. As i always drop my pencil, when i use 1/2 way and the Shu's pencil lead break, my heart also ache and also pissed. :P

I'm using Kanebo powder. I find that having a good brow brush is better than the powder. Helps to put the color on better if i use brow powder. Am I right?

I will go n check out sana and canmake soon.

Btw, suddenly recall this- i need yr help. Do u know of this petite size lady called vivilin Ong (we called her ViVi). Very long black hair (that time). A bit angmoh face hehe. She used to work at Vincent Longo as manager (said u recommend her the job) then she moved to T. L Clerc. Very sexy one.

I'm trying to find her new working place now. Lost contact with her since yrs ago. Have her no. but she changed so no idea. Plus that time she said might go overseas to venture. Do u know or even remember her? Thanks!
