Skin Care before applying makeup

(1)Skin Lotion
After cleansing face used a suitable skin lotion/toner for the skin. Apply this with cotton pad, as when wiping through the skin you also can check if the skin is totally clean with the cotton pad. This will also helps to prepare the skin to have better adsorption of any other skin care products that you going to apply on.

(A) cle de peau BEAUTE Gentle balancing lotion
This balancing lotion immediately replenishes moisture throughout skin and achieves softness and smoothness with regular daily use. Great for combination to dry skin.

(B) Bioderma Sensibio
Specially formulated for sensitive skin, helps to cleanse the face gently at the same time maintaining the skin’s balance. Their soothing and decongesting active ingredients prevent the feelings of irritation often caused by cleansing.

(C) Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion
Contains an advanced skin hydrating ingredient, retains twice the moisture of Hyaluronic Acid, which is a common ingredient in other skincare products. Replenishes and locks-in moisture for complete hydration, instantly hydrates skin and helps preserve its optimum moisture balance, leaving skin silky smooth. Free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol & colorant.

(D) SK-II Treatment Essence
The seemingly magical ingredient found in all SK-II products, helps restore vital balance by promoting the skin's natural 28-day surface renewal process. This singular blend of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids produces a seemingly miraculous rebirth of skin's appearance.

(2) Moisturizer
A light moisturizer is a must to ensure the skin’s soft & moistured.
This need not be over oily.

(A) Olay White Radiance UV Blocker SPF30 PA++
Formulated with a potent whitening blend of vitamin B3, pro-vitamin B5, vitamin E and hesperidin, it's ideal for whitening divas who spend a lot of time outdoors. The result is celLucentTM fairness: Truly, glowing fairness that's deeply rooted at skin's cellular level.

(B) Dior L’OR DE VIE
The Extract concentrates the regenerative and antioxidant quintessence of L’Or de Vie Complex. It restores life to the skin and instantly illuminates the complexion.

(C) cle de peau BEAUTE Gentle Protective Emulsion SPF15
A daytime moisturizer for normal to dry skin that protects skin against environmental damages such as UV rays and achieves smoothness and radiance with regular daily use. Protects skin against environmental damages such as roughness caused by dryness.

(D) Sisley Ecological Compound
Helps protect your skin while moisturizing. An all-purpose formula that works to stimulate and regulate the skin. Light and glides on easily for combination skin. Help skin fight environmental stresses (pollution, cigarette smoke, UV rays) Restore improved tone and suppleness.
(3) Sun Block
Sun protection is also a must to avoid harmful UV rays, but I’ll prefer an oil free sun block.

(A) Shiseido Anessa SPF50+PA+++
A very fluid & light milky sun block that glides on smoothly on skin. Doesn’t flake, moisturizing yet waterproof with translucent finished.

(B) Clarins Day Screen High Protection SPF40
An invisible daily shield that protects your skin from the harmful effects of the sun and all types of environmental pollution. With 100% mineral protection and feather-light texture.

(C) Chanel UV Essentiel Multi-Protection Daily Care SPF 50/PA+++
Enriched with moisturizing agents, UV ESSENTIEL protects your skin and leaves it soft, supple and silky. The fluid texture contains a combination of two powders, so that it glides easily and perfectly over the entire face.

(D) Lancome UV Expert SPF 50
This sunscreen was reformulated in either 2007 or 2008, and the old name was DNA Shield. The active ingredients are Meroxyl XL and SX.
A very light lotion like texture. It looks white when first squeezed from the bottle, but becomes transparent when applied to the face. The finish is nonoily and somewhat dewy. It is not mattifying so this might be too rich for those with super oily skin.

Hi Andy,
Chance by your blog and enjoyed reading them! Very comprehensive. And some of the products looks great, makes me wanna get them right away.

May I ask, what sunblock, pre-makeup and makeup base would you recommend for combination to oily skin?

Thanks in advance, Reiko

Hi Andy,

Appreciate you for always recommending good tips and products to us.

Any recommendation for sun block that does not cause the face to be greasy/oily?

Recently, i used the new improved Kose sunblock and my face is much more oiler than before. In the past, i do not need to blot my face.. But now, i need to blot at least twice. =(
